Vampires, adolescence, true love and high tension. Marrying a vampire definitely doesn’t fit into Jessica’s senior year ‘get-a-life’ plan. He’s arrogant, officious, embarrassingly overprotective, and, well, incredibly hot. But just when things start to heat up with Lucius, a devious cheerleader sets her sights on him.
Soon Jess finds herself fighting to win back her wayward prince, stop a global vampire war — and save Lucius’s soul from eternal damnation. All of which leaves her to wonder: Wouldn’t life be easier if she could just fall for a nice mortal boy? It doesn’t get too bogged down in vampire lore. Beth Fantaskey borrows only a few of the usual bloodsucker staples eg. I adored Lucius. He’s showy but endearing. His incredulous comments about America in correspondence with his cruel uncle Vasile were side-splitting.

I enjoyed reading this book, but I think I have to agree with Einmyria on the fact that Lucius was a jerk who did not deserve Jessica’s love. She can do SO much better then him. Otherwise I disagree with what Einmyria wrote sorry, Einmyria. I really liked this book. I found the dialogue between Jessica and Lucius real and at times extremely funny.
I also liked how their relationship wasn’t perfect and when you thought it was going to work out, there was another twist. Lucius was a very interesting character. He was dark at times and other times he was very kind in his own way. Overall, a great book. Thank you Lucius, I never would have come to a conclusion were it not for your douchebaggery.
